Canon EOS 40D
A nice upgrade from my previous 20D. Slightly more megapixels and somewhat better noise control, even in ISO 1600. Oh, and the 3″ LCD screen is very helpful for shot reviews.
Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM
This is a great general-purpose-lens. 28-135mm covers most of my needs both indoor and outdoor events. Images are sharp. The IS is a nice addition, but can be rather erratic if my hands are too steady.
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II
My favorite lens. This is the perfect lens for my candid shots. Small, lightweight and usually not noticeable. Images are tack sharp when stopped down a bit, but even at f1.8 is sharp enough. Furthermore, f1.8 is fast and really helps in low-light condition.
Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L USM
Expect tack sharp and well-saturated images taken from this lens. Constant aperture along the way at f2.8 enables me to shoot handhold. Bokeh is creamy and nice. Will make a very good portrait lens.
